The Jewellery and Presents for the Proposal Ceremony

I am really glad that Dewi’s mother and family members have been very supportive. Even though it should be my family to prepare the jewellery and the presents for the proposal (提亲) ceremony in Indonesia, my future mother-in-law is kind to help to make necessary arrangement there. We would only need to be there in September. We hope both sides of the parents will be more than happier for the union of the two families.

In Singapore, one more thing for us to get is the jewellery. We are not getting the full set of the 4-piece gold (四点金) according to the tradition. Nevertheless, today, we manage to choose the necklace chain, pendant and a pair of ear rings today! We are especially glad that for the pendant and ear rings are matching our rings as well. All designs are made with rose gold and diamonds. Dewi will look exceptionally rosy, shiny and brilliant with them. =)

Yum Cha + Decoration for Solemnisation Venue

Dear our relative and friends,

Dewi and I have decided to hold the solemnisation ceremony at Yum Cha Restaurant in Chinatown. The menu is one of the best and most affordable we have seen after days of research and discussions. However, the venue where we will hold the solemnisation ceremony leaves much to desire. We would get some helps to decorate the whole place, including the function room, either from a commercial entity or friends. We would like to have a bright, colourful and romantic theme. Any volunteers? =)

Eventually, we hope this leaves a fond memory in us, and filling meals for our guests as well. We are getting our guest list finalised soon, and then I would make the calling up. Hope our close friends will be able to be present to witness our happy moments.

We have decided on the rings!!!

My dear Dewi, I am glad that you can get the ring that you like, and my ring can match yours as well. Hope Fairy’s Inc does a good job for us. Can’t wait for the solemnisation day when we will exchange the rings oh!

About the solemnisation day, we have planned it exactly 3 months from now. We did not realise if we wanted to hold the solemnisation outside ROM premises, we did not need to book so much early in advance. So now, since our solemnisation would probably be the only session for our friends in Singapore, we are planning for some nice places/restaurants/hotels to hold a simple solemnisation session. Also will need to get a solemniser who would be a reverent from a church Dewi contacted. More planning to do oh!

The Rings at Fairy’s Inc

Through the Internet forum at femalebridesonline.com, I read some recommendations on Fairy’s Inc custom made rings, and their friendly service. We went there last night, without an appointment. Little did we know that Sandra’s schedule for the evenings are fully booked, and the nearest is the next Friday. Sandra was handling a couple, so we feel paiseh to take up her time, especially it was quite late at about 8pm.

There are just so many choices of designs. We would probably get something that looks simple, however with details that are unique to both of us. Can’t wait for the appointment, and hopefully we can get good advices of the design, plus good price. Heh heh.

Check out some photographers’ works

Dewi and I are still contemplating on the wedding photo and gown packages. The choices and variables are many. The decision is difficult to make as this time. We have visited a few wedding gown salons in Tanjong Pagar Road. We start to know what possibly that we are searching for.

I hope we can get a affordable package, and trust the photographer team so that we can enjoy the creative and memorable moments that will be captured!

Here is one photographer’s work that we can evaluate and consider: www.tinydotphotography.com.

My good friends Joyce & Fern

Dear Joyce & Fern,

I just had a great evening meet-up with you two. The Cafe Cartel pork ribs were still as nice. The Starbucks Frappucino Mocha was still as nice. Both of you are still as great!

Do you know that you are the first that I inform about our planned important dates in September and October? I am honoured to have you two as good friends for more than 10 years! I would really want to have you both at our solemnisation day. Do come and celebrate with me, OK? =)

PS: Joyce and, especially, Fern, I am sure your great days are not far from now. I am sure you will be happy whenever you are. Thank you for the friendship!

THE Auspicious Dates and Hours!

It is now more or less confirmed, after careful calculations, Dewi’s mother has given us the green light for 2 important dates for Dewi and me. The details are exact to the hours of the day. We are going to remember the dates for our life:

  • My parents’ proposal date:
a beautiful Sunday morning on 16 September 2007
    (7am~9am Indonesia time GMT+7).
  • Our solemnisation:
a blessed Saturday afternoon on 27 October 2007
    (2pm~4pm Singapore time GMT+8).

After I get this details to my parents, and with their consent, we will then get prepared for the memorable days!
