Hug You Tight When I See You Tonight

Sayang Dewi, I miss you much oh.

Hope you enjoy the time with your family back in Cirebon, especially mommy and grandma. I am glad that I spoke to mommy, and SMS to her on her birthday. ^_^

I am fine in these few days. Some days I got up from bed just slightly later than usual, but still, I got to take breakfast, read a bit of the newspaper, and got to office almost on time. Heh heh.

I will hug you tight when I see you tonight at the airport oh.

Happy Valentine’s Day, dear

Dear, Happy Valentine’s Day.

You remember that I have told you that I was glad to be with you, and will not have lonely Valentine’s Day any more in our dinner last 14-Feb in 2007. Today, although you have taken a flight to Cirebon, while I am in Singapore, I am not alone. I know that I have you in my heart. You have warmed my heart which shall not be alone.

I will go to Cirebon to find you next Tuesday. And we will get married on the next Sunday, with blessings from both of our families, relatives and friends. =)

Photo samples received!

Finally, we received some samples of the photo taken in Bali last month. We have to pick some to be printed and displayed during the 24-Feb wedding dinner in Cirebon. Darling Dewi, you look fabulous in the photos. I love you so much!

After the wedding proposal in Cirebon…

My dear Dewi felt unwell today. Even though Dewi was not feeling so well, a trip to Redhill was made for a house rental viewing in the evening. I am glad that, given the cold sweat on her body, Dewi managed to close the deal. I hope that Dewi will get rejuvenated and refreshed after a night sleep. {hug}

Our flight landed in Singapore, after a 2-hour journey from Jakarta. The Indonesia trip and wedding proposal had been smooth and my parents were well taken care of by my future mother-in-law. We truly enjoyed the stay and kind attention given.

Now, we eagerly look forward to the ROM solemnisation ceremony (Oct), photo shooting (Dec), wedding dinners (Feb, Mar), and moving to our own sweet home before March 2008.

The Jewellery and Presents for the Proposal Ceremony

I am really glad that Dewi’s mother and family members have been very supportive. Even though it should be my family to prepare the jewellery and the presents for the proposal (提亲) ceremony in Indonesia, my future mother-in-law is kind to help to make necessary arrangement there. We would only need to be there in September. We hope both sides of the parents will be more than happier for the union of the two families.

In Singapore, one more thing for us to get is the jewellery. We are not getting the full set of the 4-piece gold (四点金) according to the tradition. Nevertheless, today, we manage to choose the necklace chain, pendant and a pair of ear rings today! We are especially glad that for the pendant and ear rings are matching our rings as well. All designs are made with rose gold and diamonds. Dewi will look exceptionally rosy, shiny and brilliant with them. =)

THE Auspicious Dates and Hours!

It is now more or less confirmed, after careful calculations, Dewi’s mother has given us the green light for 2 important dates for Dewi and me. The details are exact to the hours of the day. We are going to remember the dates for our life:

  • My parents’ proposal date:
a beautiful Sunday morning on 16 September 2007
    (7am~9am Indonesia time GMT+7).
  • Our solemnisation:
a blessed Saturday afternoon on 27 October 2007
    (2pm~4pm Singapore time GMT+8).

After I get this details to my parents, and with their consent, we will then get prepared for the memorable days!

Auspicious Dates 良辰吉日

Dewi and I are still discussing about our parent’s proposal and ROM dates. We plan to let my parents go to Indonesia and make an official proposal (is this the right term for Chinese 提亲?) to Dewi’s mother in September. We will spend at least 4 days in Indonesia. Dewi would also want to find out bridal package details in Indonesia. The day of the week for this proposal can be almost any day, but of course I prefer to have it near the weekend and so I could apply less leaves from office.

And one month later, in October, we plan to have our marriage registered at ROM in Singapore. It will be blessing to us if our parents and family can witness, and our Singapore close friends can share the joy on our big day. Since we plan no lunch/dinner in Singapore, we would likely treat our family and friends to some restaurants on the same day, hopefully on a Saturday or Sunday.

Dewi’s place has got one calendar that suggests some auspicious dates for certain big events. It is quite a new discovery to me, as this calendar is printed entirely in English! And so I guess they have some ways to calculate the dates, maybe from horoscope, astrology, or even from the Chinese lunar calendar?! From the calendar, Dewi has shortlisted a few good dates:

  • September: 1, 6, 13, 16, 28
  • October: 4, 9, 12, 15, 19, 24, 27 (Saturday), 29

At the same time, I seek advice from the Internet for the Chinese lunar calendar calculation for the auspicious days 良辰吉日. Hmmm, I get another sets of dates:

  • September: 3, 6, 7, 8, 13, 16, 20, 21, 23, 28
  • October: 1, 3, 5, 12, 15, 17, 19, 26, 28 (Sunday), 29, 30

Both calendars do not agree to each other completely. However for an auspicious Saturday or Sunday in October, it should be either the 27th or 28th oh! After Dewi discusses with her mother, then we will make the decision. Later this month, we will need to book the dates with ROM for the registration.

I can’t wait till the day we are announced to be husband and wife under the law! Dear Dewi, I love you.
