After the wedding proposal in Cirebon…

My dear Dewi felt unwell today. Even though Dewi was not feeling so well, a trip to Redhill was made for a house rental viewing in the evening. I am glad that, given the cold sweat on her body, Dewi managed to close the deal. I hope that Dewi will get rejuvenated and refreshed after a night sleep. {hug}

Our flight landed in Singapore, after a 2-hour journey from Jakarta. The Indonesia trip and wedding proposal had been smooth and my parents were well taken care of by my future mother-in-law. We truly enjoyed the stay and kind attention given.

Now, we eagerly look forward to the ROM solemnisation ceremony (Oct), photo shooting (Dec), wedding dinners (Feb, Mar), and moving to our own sweet home before March 2008.

The search for a home

My beloved Dewi,

It has been dream for both of us to come together, and even so for a place we called “our home”. We are both happy and excited that we have the chance to make a place our home, a place where we wake up to see each other.

You have been eager for the search of our home. I hesitated for the lack of fund, but I want to change that. I think you and I will make it. I might have been too cautious over the fund, however I still believe that we should be prudent.

Dear, whenever possible, I would want to view a potential re-sale unit together with you. I don’t want you to feel alone. And on my side, let me work out how to manage my work and the over-times…

Love, Soon Horng…

Planning stage

We are planning our budget now, and the figures certainly are the biggest spending so far for both of us. I really hope I can afford a memorable wedding moments for my wife-to-be, although Dewi is a very understanding lady. She knows my commitment to my family, she is willing to compromise for a few things. I love you so much oh.

The biggest single item in our wedding plan is the new home, our sweet little home. Singapore property market is probably at the peak since 10 years ago. For a new home to be ready in February 2008, we really need some loans from family and relative to tide us over this very short period. As long as we are both getting incomes, we are not so worried about the future commitment. The worry is with the down-payment. Renting a place to stay after we get married is not totally unacceptable, but we thought it would make more sense to use the rental for something we own eventually. This depends on the amount and timing of the loans we can request.

As for other items for the next 3 to 4 months, we can likely make it, although it means using up all our savings. More importantly, both of us can stay together, settle down, and start a new family.

I will have to call my mom to discuss the date and loan from relatives. My parents have been very supportive to me, although I try not to worry them too much. I know they probably will be very much relieved when I start a family and settle down. I love you, dad and mom.
